There are moments in life when things are just… alright.
It’s not too bad, it’s not all good, but it’s alright.
These last couple of weeks have been trying; financially, mentally, spiritually. It always feels like when I make a step forward, something suddenly drops out of the clear blue sky to cause a detour in my progress.
Me: Yay, I’ve been paying my loan payments more consistently!
Life: Well, here’s another bill for that ahh!
Me: Oh, I think this guy could be special.
Life: Ha! Well, he’s not going to text you back!
From a tilted perspective, it would appear as if my life does not intend on giving me a break of any kind, anytime soon. And from that same perspective, I share with full transparency, that I’ve fought off the urge to cave into an emotional breakdown, but the light to draw me out of this funk is simply… hope. Hope of tomorrow. Hope that I’ll be debt-free one day. Hope that my man will finally come. Hope that the Lord will provide for me to continue to direct my Chuck Taylor’ed footsteps in the right direction. The late, great singer Whitney Houston once sang, “It’s not right, but it’s okay.” But I’d like to add my own twist on the proverb and declare that, “It may not be alright now, but it will be okay.”
