The common perspective of New Yorkers is that they are always in a rush.

We rush to work. To get our coffee. To events. We even rush into the rush of the rush.

For some folks who are merely tourist, passing through the big city on a weekend excursion, this rushed and hurried lifestyle may baffle you. Where are they all going anyway?

Well, in my (almost) year long tenure in NYC, I’ve found the root cause of every New Yorker’s perceived state of continuous urgency: public transportation.

Yep, the medium in which we depend on to get us safely from point A to point B is the very vessel of our demise. Every train line has its own issues, but from my own bias perspective, I can assure you that the line in which I depend on to get to and from work is the worst: the A/C trains. A train delay can take you from on time” to Denzel Washington in “Out of Time” in a matter of seconds, so it’s important that you save time wherever you can; even in your closet.

Neutral colors have become my go-to closet staple for some time now. Ever since I decided to take a more minimal approach to my wardrobe, life has become a bit simpler. Working with limited colors and prints takes the guess work out of your outfit assembly and makes it that much simpler to get dressed and out of the house for the moments when time isn’t necessarily on your side.

This is a great look for when you’re going out with bae or hitting the streets for a girl’s night out.  pink-black-duster-1802

Whatever setting you choose, you can feel confident in your look and punctuality.

when i first set out to create my blog, i just wanted an outlet to balance my mundane college schedule. but over the years, it has become so much more. writing is how i process my world & the events that take place within it. through, i seek to help my fellow 20-somethings, like me, working to find light when their paths seem darkened and learn from my mistakes so i can save you the trouble of repeating them. is witty, vulnerable, and transparent, but most importantly, it's me, unapologetically. peace, peace, peace Aley Arion business inquiries:
