Aley, is that you playa?! Back with a new style post?!

Why yes, yes it is!

And as you may have already noticed: I’m bal’headed! Ha!

Yep, I cut my locs off last week and I am absolutely in love with the new do; I’ll get into the details about the why’s and how’s in a later post, so stay tuned!

Let’s get into this fit!

For the new year, one of my style goals is to polish my look. I’ve been working to incorporate more bold, yet minimal pieces into my closet that work well with one another. May seem strange, but back when I had locs I didn’t feel “neat” persay. Not to echo the common stereotype that locs look unkempt or dirty, because that couldn’t be further from truth, but for me and my hair texture, I would have flyways the were difficult to manage. This would lead to me feeling like my outfit didn’t match me hair! Crazy, right?

At any rate, now that I have a short cut, I’m pretty much a one trick pony and my hair regime has been cut down to a two step process: spray with water, curl with gel. Done.

I hope to translate this simplicity into my wardrobe and style process: statement top, structured bottoms, fly shoes and minimal accessories as the finishing touch.

Low maintenance formulas are becoming a key proponent in the life of 2017 Aley. Time is money, baby!

when i first set out to create my blog, i just wanted an outlet to balance my mundane college schedule. but over the years, it has become so much more. writing is how i process my world & the events that take place within it. through, i seek to help my fellow 20-somethings, like me, working to find light when their paths seem darkened and learn from my mistakes so i can save you the trouble of repeating them. is witty, vulnerable, and transparent, but most importantly, it's me, unapologetically. peace, peace, peace Aley Arion business inquiries:
