Looks who’s finally 21! That’s right, on March 10, I was blessed to reach another milestone birthday, and it was nothing less than perfect. I’ll be honest, I was a bit anxious to turn the big 2-1, simply because 20 was such a comfortable age. I had this whole idea of how I wanted my birthday to go. You know, typically, people think their 21st is supposed to be this extravagant celebration filled with drinks, wild times with friends, and drinks. But I had to reevaluate my mindset and consider a couple of things. One: Why would I want to get so “turned up” that I wouldn’t be able even recall the events that took place on my special day? And two: every year that I am granted to see is a blessing, and I shouldn’t be so focused on having ONE wild and crazy night, but I should be living EACH and EVERY day as if it’s my birthday! It took me a minute to get to this revelation, but I’m glad I did, because it allowed me to enjoy my birthday even more. I’m blessed to have such loving family and friends around me that made my birthday extraordinary, and I will never forget that.

For my outfit of the night, I wanted to get a little grown with my look (just a little lol), so I slipped on a black midi dress with my lucky moto jacket for the chilly night, and paired it with my new favorite black suede flatform scandals from ASOS. It was only right that I rock my MAC Heroine on my special night and added gold jewelry to complete the look.

Simple, cute, and sophisticated; just like a young Queen should do it. How did/will you celebrate your next birthday? Feel free to share, the comment box is yours!

when i first set out to create my blog, i just wanted an outlet to balance my mundane college schedule. but over the years, it has become so much more. writing is how i process my world & the events that take place within it. through aleyarion.com, i seek to help my fellow 20-somethings, like me, working to find light when their paths seem darkened and learn from my mistakes so i can save you the trouble of repeating them. aleyarion.com is witty, vulnerable, and transparent, but most importantly, it's me, unapologetically. peace, peace, peace Aley Arion business inquiries: aleyarion@gmail.com
